How to read your credit report
The fair and accurate credit transactions, enacted December 4, 2003, gives all Americans the right to a free credit report annually from each of the three major credit bureaus – Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. What the law does not give all Americans the opportunity to read your credit report. Not a word of the law states that credit bureaus have to write for clear and easy to understand. Go to target = "_blank"> credit www.ftc.gov and then click consumer and read for yourself. I hope they stay awake.
While all credit reports in a basic format, some vary what you're about to read does not apply at all levels. If not obtained directly from an office mentioned above, your best bet for a translation is the source to provide a copy.
Here is the skeleton in four parts most office use. part of their identifying information. This is information such as name, social security numbers, addresses, previous current date of birth, driver's license number, phone number, name of spouse and your employer and length of employment. As with all sections, special attention because the chances are very good, some of which is a mistake.
It is a mistake because this information comes office of a multitude of sources and the office did not have time to update or correct. This leaves you as your own corrections officer.
The second part is history credit. This is usually the longest part of his report, and probably have had department store accounts, multiple credit cards, many banks and other loans to financial institutions, mortgages, auto loans, credit lines, mortgages and other loans
Transactions credit.
Sometimes you can find these lines called commercial office accounts. Not a big problem because they are still in their accounts.
These accounts usually start with opening the account can tell what type or kind of credit (time, car loan, personal loans, etc) and if your name or any other person is in the account with you. The total amount of the loan with your high credit limit or if a credit card balance overpasses. The next thing shown is the amount still owed and whether payments are fixed or minimum monthly amounts. Your state, open / inactive / closed / paid, follow payments only for the whole world wants to know the subject, the method of payment on the account.
That's where the list of offices, if you arrive late, and case of delay, until what time and how often they were late. If you do not arrive late, you will see that you pay on time.
The third part is called Public Inquiries or public documents. This is where tax liens, judgments, liens and bankruptcies are listed. You want this part is empty and I mean empty. If you see something here in an attempt to correct immediately, if not sooner.
The fourth part is the poll section. Is divided into two parts. The first part is the question you start filling out a credit application. This section is generally referred to as Section difficult to research because you are the initiator of the investigation.
The second part is called the Research section sweet. What you'll find here are the names companies that have submitted offers of credit or current creditors who are monitoring your account.
Sometimes there is a fifth section called comments. Read because you never know what you reported on.
Each credit report is an explanation of the terms usually last report page. In this work, mean that numbers and letters that appear next to their accounts said. So if you see something like I9, do not worry, as it should be defined in explaining terms.
Of course, i9 could be negative, which might have to worry about. Anyway, now almost fully armed to deal with this free credit report law firms have given.
Good opportunity and that all credits to A +.
