Consumer Credit Report Employment

What is with a consumer report being a part of an employment app? Do you have to sign it?
My credit is not good right now(divorce blah-blah-blah) I have had a few companys have this in the app process…is this right? Legal? Do I have to sumit this form?
Do you mean a credit report? Legal? Yup, standard for most jobs in a lot of places. Have to submit? Nope. ANd they don’t have to process your employment application either.
