Lesson Plan ideas for teaching Consumer Protection – legislation and agencies?
I need to gear this toward 9th and 10th graders. I will also need to complete a 2 week unit plan on the subject so the lesson plan needs to actually be about only one of the subtopics, but it can be any one that I choose. (Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Crdeit Bililng Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Credit Collection Practices, Consumer Credit Protection Act, Federal Trade Commission Act, Consumer Product Safety Act, or Consumer Leasing Act) Any help is greatly appreciated!
Try and include the reason for the agencies. Let them fill out loan applications and go trough the process of applying for a loan, then have some get it and some not. Find a sample credit report for them to see. Connect the dots to the laws and agencies.
