How can I correct wrong info on my credit report?
I don’t understand this…I just recently looked up my credit report for all 3 bureaus and noticed that there is wrong information on al 3 of them (Spelling of name, current address, DOB, current employer, etc.) I haven’t found any info on the web as to how to correct this. Can someone who knows much about this field please help me…thank you.
Correcting your credit report is fairly simple. When you got your credit report, they gave you the address to send the dispute to. If not, look at the above answers for the address.
If the information you are disputing regards a debt, or anything that may have a negative impact on your score, then you MUST send the dispute by certified mail.
This is VERY important. In the event that they do not correct this information, you need the proof that they were notified before you can proceed with any legal or punitive action.
