This company is putting it on my credit report by name and not by Social Security # i Pulled my report up this month and it is back can i sue the company for faulse reporting.
I have called and talked to them several times they say i need to dispute and i have 3 times
I would write a complaint to your states Attorney Generals Office. Usually this can be done right online from the webpage. You may have a lawsuit if:
1. You can prove (paperwork) that the debt was never yours.
2. If this being on your credit report has caused you to not be accepted for a loan.
3. If you can prove that the company has broken any Laws of the “Fair Credit Reporting Act”
Once you file a complaint with the Attorney Generals Office, they will issue you a letter notifiting you that they have recieved your complaint and they will investigate the matter. At which point, the A.G. will then notify the accused party of your complaint and they will have 30 days to respond. If the A.G. deems that that company has violated your rights, they could inisiate a lawsuit on your behalf at no charge to you.
