Will my credit be effected if I’m on the deed but not the mortgage?
My father purchased a house while I was in college. I’m on the deed but not the mortgage. However, he recently passed away and I can’t afford the mortgage payments. We owe more than what it is worth. I tried talking to the bank but they won’t speak to me because of the privacy law. I live in Florida and would like to just walk away. But I’m worried that it will effect my credit report if I wanted to ever purchase another home. Please help!!
