I need a GPA estimation (I’m from Quebec and would like to go to university in the USA)?
Those are my last two report cards from Cegep (high school).
The numbers will indicate, in order: my grade (%) – the class’ average (%) – my z score for that class – credit hours.
Phys Ed I: 95-75-1.87-2
Philosophy I: 95-61-2.27-4
Statistics: 84-60-1.22-4
Economy: 90-60-2.73-3
Politics: 81-60-1.27-3
Sociology: 89-65-1.7-3
French I: 93-71-1.9-4
Phys Ed II: 91-66-2.27-2
Calculus I: 89-57-1.48-5
Geography: 91-66-2.36-3
History: 93-61-1.34-3
Philosophy II: 90-71-1.86-3

The point that bugs me is the % to letters (A,B,C) conversion. I just expect an estimation (hopefully from american teachers).
Earned points are the GPA points multiplied by # of credits.
Phys Ed 95% which is an A , so 4 GPA points , 2 Credits , 8 Earned Points
Philosophy 96% which is an A , so 4 GPA points, 4 Credits, 16 Earned Points
Statistics 84% which is a B, so 3 GPA points, 4 Credits, 12 Earned Points
Economy 90% which is an A – , so 3.7 GPA points, 3 Credits, 11.1 Earned Points
Politics 81% which is a B – , so 2.7 GPA points, 3 Credits, 8.1 Earned Points
Sociology 89% which is a B +, so 3.4 GPA points, 3 Credits, 10.2 Earned Points
French I 93% which is an A – , so 3.7 GPA points, 4 Credits, 14.8 Earned Points
To get overall GPA for the whole semester you add up the Earned points and divide them by the # over all Credits so: 8 + 16 + 12 + 11.1 + 8.1 + 10.2 + 14.8 = 80.2 Earned Points
Credits = 2 + 4 + 4 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 4 = 23 Credits
So, GPA is 80.2 / 23 = 3.4869 OR rounded off to 3.49
Second Semester:
Phys Ed II 91% which is an A – , so 3.7 GPA points, 2 Credits , 7.4 Earned Points
Calculus I 89% which a B + , so 3.4 GPA points, 5 Credits, 17 Earned Points
Geography 91% which is an A -, so 3.7 GPA points, 3 Credits, 11.1 Earned Points
History 93% which is an A -, so 3.7 GPA points, 3 Credits, 11.1 Earned Points
Philosophy II 90% which is an A – , so 3.7 GPA points, 3 Credits, 11.1 Earned Points
Psychology 96% which is an A, so 4 GPA points, 3 Credits, 12 Earned Points
French II 87% which is a B – , so 3.4 GPA points, 4 Credits, 13.6 Earned Points
7.4 + 17 + 11.1 + 11.1 + 11.1 + 12 + 13.6 = 83.3 Earned Points
Credits = 2 + 5 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 4 = 23 Credits
So, GPA is 83.3 / 23 = 3.62
To get the whole year GPA just add Earned Points from each semester and divide them by 46 Credits, 80.2 + 83.3 = 163.5 / 46 = 3.55 GPA For the whole year
