Can I request that postings on my credit report be removed if they were when I was a minor?
if my credit report shows I have dings from when i was a minor, can i request them to be removed?
Minors are not able to enter into a legal contract. As such, you can try and contact the credit bureaus. Send them proof (such as your birth certificate) and tell them that you want the dings removed since you were a minor at the time.
However, you imply that you’re an adult now (since you said “when I was”). If so, you may have backed the contract. When you turn 18, you can either dispute the contract, or you can leave it alone. If you leave it alone, you are basically saying that you acknowledge the contract, and thus it as been affirmed with you as an adult.
It wouldn’t hurt to try, though. Go ahead and dispute them.
