As a landlord, can I report rent payment records (in this case – good records) to a credit reporting agency?
A tenant is needing to rebuild credit and has requested this. My current company tells me it can be attached to, but not part of, the credit report. Does this mean it would not be reflected in their credit score?
That is correct. Look how bogged down the credit system would be if all rental property credit history was recorded. As usual, these services are for reporting other types of credit…Renting does not “count” as part of the scoring system equasion.
