Certain companies have problems verifying my credit card billing address.?
I can place online order to almost any website, but PayPal and Ticketweb both say they can’t verify my billing address or the software they use to verify the address through the bank says the billing address is wrong. I have checked with my bank numerous times on this and they have repeatedly verified my current address. I receive my bank statements at my current address as well. Why are these companies unable to verify my address? I know years ago I set up a PayPal account that I never used and now I can not remember my information to login and change the data. Could this be the reason certain companies can not verify my address? Are they using some kind of system that runs through PayPal and there is just an old address there that wasn’t updated? Also, when I had to call and report a stolen card, the theft hotline used by my bank had an address listed for my card that I never lived at, but the bank itself has my current address. What is going on here?
Get, if you haven’t already, all three of your credit reports and make sure all the old addresses are cleaned up and only the current one shows. Just ask that the old info be remove by sending a SIMPLE letter with the addresses you want deleted.
Then call Paypal and see what is in your file only they can tell you what the problem might be and possibly correct it.
