Can a company figure out your credit card or account number by your name and address?

I need a credit report, so i went to freecreditreport.com to get a credit score, I thought it was free and easy until I got to the second page and they requested my social sec number and credit card info. I researched if this company had any history of fraud, went to google and typed in the site name and rip off. Sure enough there are 50+ ripoffreports for the site. I did not give them my SSN or Credit Card, but I think they have my name, address and email from the first page, even if I didnt complete the entire form.
First of all, no they aren’t going to get your credit card number from your name and address.
Second, freecreditreport.com is not a scam. They are run by one of the 3 legitimate credit reporting agencies (I don’t recall which one) and they will actually give you a “free” credit report when you sign up for a credit monitoring service. That is why they were asking for your credit card number.
Third, if all you want is a free credit report, then go to annualcreditreport.com. At this site, you can obtain a truely free credit report from each of the 3 major credit reporting agencies. What you should do is request a report from a different agency every 4 months. That way you can monitor your own credit history for free during the year.
