If you have a mortgage, should it appear on your Experian credit report?
I recently decided to check my credit report purely because I was curious and had never looked before.
I have a small loan and credit card which are on there and all correct yet it doesn’t show my mortgage – is this right?
Almost all mortgage companies report to the three credit bureaus. However, if your mortgage is through a small credit union, a n owner-financed mortgage or the like, it is possible that the lender is either not reporting (not a member) or is only reporting to one or two of the three Bureaus. You can always call your lender and see who they report to.
