credit reports mailed to you
Blockbuster report to credit?

Does Blockbuster actually report to your credit if you have a movie that you didn’t return?
In June I rented Mulberry Street (It sucked so terribly I didn’t finish it and forgot all about it), and today I got a letter in the mail from Credit Protection Association L.P. saying that since it has been 30 days since their last attempt to contact me that they now assume the debt is valid.
I never received anything before this, not even a phone call. I called Blockbuster and verified my phone number and address on file which were correct, but the associates at two different locations that I spoke with “didn’t know” anything about when or if it actually reports.
The movie actually has such a low rental rating that they don’t offer a “buy back” option for it.
Anybody know if it actually is going to report to my credit?

No…but the collection agency does….$30 or so is a small price to pay to not have bad credit.

Send the debt collector a letter via certified mail + return receipt with the following statement:

I am willing to settle this issue in exchange for your agreeing to remove this item from my credit file upon receipt of $[enter amount] from me. This account will be considered settled in full upon receipt of this amount. Upon a receipt of a letter from your company confirming agreement to these terms on your company’s letterhead with an authorized signature from a manager, I will mail you a USPS money order for this amount.

This is called a Pay for Delete agreement.
