I want to view my credit report online for free but the sites that I have gone to are requesting my social security number. How safe is this and is there one that I can go to that doesn’t need my SSN?

There are three credit-reporting agencies – Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. You can order all three free credit reports and scores at one time, or you can request your report from each of the companies one at a time.
Be sure to check credit report online regularly. It’s simple and free but crucial – old or inaccurate information could cost you a job, an apartment or a lot of money when you borrow.
