Your Credit Report Totally Free – Anything Else?

You get to take a look at your credit report for free once a year from each of the three major credit bureaus, and there really is not much else to it.

Federal law protects your right to get a free look at your report from each of the three bureaus. The government has determined that the credit report is important enough that you should not be charged for your first look. Extra looks at the report after that will cost money.

Aurora Lillo Editor of the “Best Credit Reporting Services” website — http://www.BestCreditReportServices.com — pointed out;

“…When you go to the website of the bureau that you want to take your free look from, you need to make sure that you will be able to print it off. As soon as you close the browser of your computer, your free look from that bureau is over. Therefore, you want to make sure that you print it out before you log out. You may need to file it and refer to it later…”

Keep your printed out report somewhere safe so that it cannot be reached by anyone else. Your credit score contains important information about your financial history and records. You certainly do not want that information floating around. In fact, you want to use your report for the opposite reason, to prevent identity theft.

“…If you check your report regularly, then you may be able to tell if something has gone seriously wrong with your financial stats. If there is something that appears seriously wrong, then you may be a victim of identity theft, and you should contact the proper authorities as soon as possible…” added A. Lillo.
