Dispute Credit Report Experian
2010
Pulled my credit report recently and want to know if it is good to dispute an old, payed off, closed bad credit?
I have recently got my credit report from TransUnion, Experian, and Equifax. I also got my score from only Experian which was 755. Can you tell me how accurate is this score based on only Experian?
Also, I have 8 good items and only one bad credit which was a credit card that I could not pay it for 4-5 months, but I borrowed the money from someone and payed it off and closed the credit card in 2007. Should I dispute this trying to erase it from my credit report? A friend of mine told me I can challenge them and since they only keep the record for 18 months, they might not have it.
I tried to apply for AMEX Blue cash back card and got rejected. I thought my only bad credit was the reason.
Thanks in advance for any advise.
All the three major bureaus fico scores are about the same and 755 is an excellent score.
I would not bother disputing for several reasons. First, it is accurate. Second, 3-4 years have passed and a delinquency like that is effecting your credit very little at this point and will be off your credit report in 2-3 years.
If you where rejected it may not have been solely on your fico, but on your income or maybe even lack of a long credit history. Amex is fairly picky. You should be receiving a letter detailing why you where denied if you haven’t already.
EDIT
He is correct, if you dispute it, you have a chance to take the bad mark off. Once again, I don’t see that affecting your credit score and you credit score is well within the prime lending category.
