how long to wait on late payment?
hey all,ive got a 120 day late payment on my credit report from a 4 year old loan,which ive already paid in full,is there anything i can do to get it removed?ive done disputed it on my credit reports,what am i to do?
You can ask the creditor to remove it. Otherwise you will have to wait 7 years from the date the late payment was made. Not the date you opened the account.
BTW: If it is a 4 year old late payment it is probably having very little impact on your score. The first year, it kills the score and the second year it causes a little less damage. Something 4 years old is probably costing you very few points.
