disputing credit report bankruptcy
***How do you dispute bankruptcies on your credit report???!!!!***?

My hubby and I are in the middle of a bankruptcy (chap. 7). It will be discharged sometime next month. I heard you can dispute bankruptcies, but how do you do it?? How would write a letter to them, who should I write it to, the creditors or the credit companies like Transunion or Equifax? PLZ help!

You can dispute anything that’s on your credit report, but the credit bureaus are only obligated to remove information that is false. A bankruptcy is a public record that will remain on your credit report for 10 years. If you have actually filed bankruptcy, then there is no legal way to have it removed from your credit report before that 10 years is up.
