Have not received credit report by mail yet…?
ok i live in Canada.
i ordered the Equifax free credit report (without score) by phone, and the machine completed my request successfully and said it would mail it in 3-5 business days…it’s been like 8 days now and no report in the mail… unfortunately they have no 1-800 number to which i can actually speak to a human… the only number they have is to order a report, and that is run by an automated machine… what to do?
I would have have done this by internet. I do not know what machine you are speaking of, and that makes me skeptical that its illegal, the only way to run it is on the internet or in person in front of a legit company like a bank or financial company that is well known.
I am not sure how Canada runs, but the other skeptical thing about your situation is that you entered very personal info into some machine and not received the mailout. This could indicate fraud or fraudulent activity to come on your info. If Canadians are familiar in general with these machines and you have the name of the company. A simple internet search of their corporate headquarters should be available. See if you have an equivalent of a BBB in your country that lists the complaints and compliments of that company.
If more than one person you know, do not know the company or its reputation, I would suggest investing in alerts through equifax, the equifax corporation, or the people involved with this machine can take you for a ride and destroy upcoming years of past built up credit. Equifax can set up a monthly service where you can get email or text notices everytime someone runs or uses your info even if it is you.
