Equifax Credit Reports Uk

Defaulted credit agreement in wrong name? (UK law pls)?
I have a default from 3 years ago on my credit report and the name is badly mis-spelled, but it is at my address with my d.o.b. I am wondering if they would be able to get a county court judgement passed with a completely wrong name? It was originally a store card with debt of £100 but the store sold the debt on and the collector jacked it up to £150 somehow. They obviously don’t have good information about the debt if they have a wrong name… so, from a legal perspective (not a moral one please), should I leave it to run the 6 years, or could i get a CCJ attached to me in a completely mis-spelled name?
Imagine my name was John Smith… the collector is writing to Dohn Jith and submitting that info to equifax. It is not an alias but it still shows on my report.
Best answer to draw from law & facts, not opinion… Many thanks.
Its not very professional on their behalf. Your credit report isn’t an important factor though.
The original credit agreement might be – if for example you had been receiving letters for Dohn Jith and returning them unopened marked “not known at this address”.
