2 free annual credit reports within a year????
I know annualcreditreport.com offers free credit reports every year. I just got one from Experian March 2008, but I later realized, after looking at my old file, that I got one from Equifax on Oct 2007. Will they charge me for this???
No. You get 1 per year from EACH bureau. Since the two that you have recieved are from different bureaus AND different years ~ you’ll be OK……….
Also someone else said “But did you realize that EVERY time anyone checks it, your score drops a bit? Try not to check unless completely necessary.
This only applies to a creditor inquiring into your file ~ When you check your credit file it doesn’t hurt you…….you personally could check your report everyday if you wanted and it still wouldn’t effect you…..all the credit bureaus will tell you the same thing…that checking your own credit file will not hurt you…this is even printed on your report in the disclosures ~
