Abusive credit card practices and wall street greed being reined in, a solid plan for Afghanistan supported by the military, more respect for our nation in the world community, an economy showing signs of life, climate change getting the attention it deserves….
Aside from conservatives who hate everything he does regardless of it’s impact and will be critical of Obama for however long he is in office, do you think we’re starting to see a new, better, U.S. arising from the ashes of the Bush administration?
This question is directed at thoughful individuals with something to add to the conversation, but the rest of you are free to reply with whatever vitriol towards myself or Obama that you feel the need to communicate, just be advised that answers violating the Commmunity Guidelines will be reported.

You’ve left out quite a few things, reversing our policy of committing War Crimes, Crimes Against Humanity, torture, etc. No small things, these.
I’d like to know that he will be able to implement a strong regulatory system. And I’d like to see a return to progressive taxation, too.
But, yes. The nightmare is over (at least for now). I’m a bit worried that the usual low Dem turnout, and people’s short memories might rob us of Congress — without which, he’ll be sorely limited in what he can accomplish.
When I was young, we had a growing, thriving, comfy middle class. Having watched that go bye-bye the last 30 years, with a huge hit this century, was painful and sad. I’m hoping Obama and a sorta-Dem Congress can reverse that trend.
Having someone in the Oval Office with both brain AND integrity is just — well, I haven’t words.
I was a small child when JFK was assasinated. Obama is my FIRST President (in the sense of being someone I didn’t loathe, or have major problems with).
It’s nice to see a post from someone who didn’t expect him to wave a wand and magically make everything better overnight.
