Free Credit Report Request Service
2010

Is it true that all of the major credit rating companies are required by law to give you a free report yearly?
I have been informed that upon request (in writting i presume) all major credit rating companies are required by law to give a free report.
If i were to write requesting this (should i quote any legality) to acknowledge that i am aware of this free service?
thanks
I’m assuming you are the UK. Anyone (not just credit rating agencies) who holds personal data about you is required to release that information to you on application under the terms of the Data Protection Act but I think they are entitled to charge an administration fee which from memory cannot exceed £10.
