Free Credit Report Understanding

I really don’t understand how to read my credit report. Is there any non-profit or government help out there?
I have a couple school loans. However, I have about ten entries from different companies on my report collecting these two school loans. I do not get any mail from these company because of my moves. I don’t know who I should contact to start paying them. Is there any free credit help or counseling out there?
I have these credit reports already! I need help to fix my credit because I don’t know which one to contact.
It is a government school loan. I really don’t think that I can get away with the “7 years rule”. They already took my tax return from me this year.

It sounds like your loans have been passed around to several collection agencies. You may want to start with the original creditor and see if they still own the debts or not. Sometimes collection agencies are just agents and sometimes they purchase bad debts.
