Why don’t the three credit bureaus talk to each other??
I think the credit bureaus are nothing but a racket! They are so frustrating to work with. It’s like being guilty and you have to prove your innocence! After a struggle of many you are now entitled to one free credit report a year which is dandy unless you are trying to correct mistakes, it takes 30 days for them to dispute a problem and by that time guess what?? The 30 days you have to view your report has expired, and that report doesn’t update, what does that mean? You have to drop another 25 bucks or so to see it again. That’s JUST the report; you have to pay extra to see your credit score! In order to get a good rate on a loan or purchase you need a good credit report but anyone can report something bad or those stupid identity thefts can ruin your life. I hate the system and I think it needs to change.
First off, having 3 that don’t communicate helps ensure they are accurate and removes chances of any bias/coersion.
Secondly, to work on your report, you really need to buy the reports. They are about 8 bucks, so not exactly huge money. Buy it…there are reasons such as the validity is longer and they have less time to validate your disputes…which makes it much easier to correct any mistake.
You really should spend some time on the forum at www.creditboards.com where you will find a wealth if very useful info. On the outset, dealing with the credit bureaus seems very complicated, but once you learn the system and the tricks and practices that work, you will find you can get some surprisingly good results. You will want to read and post on that site for a bit though, a lot to learn.
