How can I get a FREE credit check if I don’t have one? web sites?
Is there a State office in Texas that can give me my credit report FREE , without it costing just to see what my score is?
You can get your credit report for free from http://www.annualcreditreport.com That is the free site run by the government.
You can get your credit score (a different thing than just your report) for free from http://www.creditkarma.com It’s just one score (your TransUnion FICO score), and the site is free because it’s supposed by ads from places like Upromise and Quicken. But it is a completely legitimate way to get your credit score for free.
I do not know of any state office that gives credit reports or scores – you will have to access this information online or by mail. I believe you can also order these things over the phone.
