new credit report law 2007
Law and Ethics!?!?!????/?

Ok, so my friend lost his credit card in 2007 and someone used it. After he found out he lost it he canceled it and they sent him a new one etc. I think he reported it to the police im not sure tho. Anyways, we never heard anything back after that. It has been right at 2 and a half years ago. Is he out of luck would they of found the person by now or do you think they are still looking for him/her.? What is your opinion on this!! Thanks for your help guys.!
Yeah is that a problem? I looked up the statue of limitations for fraud in ga and it said anything dealing with fraud must be filed within 2 years? Does that mean if they find the person that did it they wont prosecute??!!

A stolen credit card after two and a half years? The police have a lot better things to do than go after that one. Even if a perpetrator came forward and gave a full confession, the cops would probably tell him to get lost. If the offense were a misdemeanor, the perpetrator may be protected by the statute of limitations. There are exceptions to that however.
