No Credit Report Checking Accounts
2010

Why aren’t my accounts in collections showing on my credit report?
I’m positive that I have several accounts that have gone to collections. However, when I checked my credit report, both my Equifax and Experian reports show that there are no accounts in collections. Where else can I find them on my report?
An account only shows up on your credit report if it’s reported to a credit bureau. Just because the debt was sold to a collections agency, doesn’t mean the original creditor reported the defaulted account.
This is a tricky situation to be in. If you were to pay these debts, it might actually hurt your credit score, as there’s a possibility it would get reported by collections as a settled charge off on your report. Which would be a seven year black mark. In that instance, from a purely business perspective, it would be in your best interest to not settle them.
I would actually goto myfico.com or a similar site and pull your full report along with your credit score, to see where you’re at. If they’re not on there, they’re not on there, and it’s someone elses problem. I wouldn’t make it yours.
