The law allows each person to get a free credit report each year from the 3 credit agencies that include TransUnion, Equifax and Experian.
While most people are aware of this, they may not know the process they need to follow when looking for a report about their credit situation. This report is very important because the information that it contains will often determine whether you are eligible for a loan, insurance, credit card, a house or even a job. One of the most efficient ways of getting the report is by visiting the official website that is made available by the credit bureaus. The steps you need to follow to obtain one include:

Select your state
Once you have logged in to the site you will then be required to select the state that you live in among the choices that have been provided. Once you have selected the state, you can click on the button that allows you to request for the report.
Enter your personal information
When you click on the request button, a page where you are supposed to enter your personal information will appear. This information includes your name, Social Security Number, and current address. Click on the continue button at the bottom of the page.
