Free yearly credit report?
How does one go about obtaining a free credit report and score without signing up for some free trial? I remember hearing that everyone is entitled to one per year.
You can get your free annual report from each of the three credit bureaus online thru AnnualCreditReport.com. Reports are free; scores are not.
You can get FICO scores for Equifax and TransUnion at MyFico.com. The Equifax site also uses FICO scores and you can get your score with your free report for about $8. The TransUnion and Experian sites use Vantage scores (different scale). Third party monitoring services use Fakko scores. Don’t waste money on non-FICO scores.
CreditKarma.com and Quizzle.com both offer free score estimators. They are not FICO, but good enough if you are just curious about your score.
