Online Credit Report Checking Account
2010

Wells Fargo closed my credit card account?
I’ve been banking with Wells Fargo for about 3 years. I have a checking, a savings, and I had a credit card with $1000 credit line as well. I’ve been abroad and I don’t have much access to internet and phone, but yesterday I discovered that Wells Fargo closed my credit card account. I called and they told me that the reason why is because I apparently missed two payment cycles and they won’t let me reopen the account, even though I paid the full amount a month ago! I’m fed up with this crummy, unreliable bank and I’m not sure what to do. I’ve been looking at my online statements for the last 3-4 months and this little $10 charge has apparently affected my credit report.
Wells Fargo seems like it’s the only bank in my small midwestern college town. I feel like I am stuck banking with them and their shitty policies. I feel like I am better off sticking my money in my mattress.
They won’t let you reopen the account? Nobody lets people re-open accounts. Once it’s closed, it’s closed. You will need to go through the application process again.
In the agreement you accepted when you got the card, it says that you need to at least make the minimum monthly payments. You didn’t; therefore you defaulted. Any lender will react the same way. If you knew you would be unavailable, you should have set up something, either an automatic check out of your bank’s bill pay system or a direct debit or pay ahead so you have a credit balance or something.
I don’t see where Wells Fargo is at fault here. Any other bank is going to operate the same way. You agreed to do something and you didn’t.
