Can somone speak on the topic of psycology of financial transactions? If an entity believes that an item such?
as $700B bailout is available under the most favorable terms to meet their inerest of course they will push and hold out for that, but if said entity KNOWS that plan is not available they will be more willing to accept a plan that is less favorable/easy toward their personal interest and protect the interest of the public. What is so wrong with these tenets anyway?Offer temporary tax relief to free up capital for companies to lend one another.
Temporarily suspend dividend payments by financial institutions.
Require participating firms to disclose to the Treasury Department the value of mortgage assets on their books, private bids on them in the past year and their last audit reports.
Forbid government-sponsored mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac from issuing securities on unsound mortgages.
Require the Securities and Exchange Commission to investigate the performance of credit-rating agencies.
