pulling credit reports law
Question about CREDIT REPORT reporting!?

I’ve just started to try and build my credit from non-existent/zero credit accounts. I’ve opened a credit account mosty for the purpose of getting an account regularly reported on my report. It’s been 7 months since i’ve opened the account. I just recenly pulled my credit report and they’ve only been reporting on it for 2 months now. They said that they would report monthly from when i open the account. Doesn’t that defeat the purpose?? Can’t they go back an fix the dates of reporting to the days that I opened the account? Not fair! Are there any laws on this? What room do I have to complain..laws to throw in their face?
Okay…well…I guess have to take what they’ve given me, eh? It’s not a credit card..maybe I worded it wrong(new at the credit terms etc)…It’s finance account. That I’ve been paying on time if full since day 1.

There is no law requiring creditors to report to a credit bureau. Just accept that the account is now being reported and move on. Be sure to always pay on time.

To further improve your score, you should open an actual credit card. You may have to get a secured account (you pay a deposit which is held as collateral against the line of credit). Use the card for small purchases and pay in full every month. In about a year, you should be able to qualify for a regular credit card or convert the secured card to a regular account.
