Anyone know about “vailidation” on your credit report?
have sent Experian 2 certified letters in the last 2 months asking for VALIDATION for inaccurate info on my credit report. Both times they sent me back a letter saying they have VERIFIED the info and will not look into it any more. I thought they were obligated to send validation when you request it. What’s my next step?
It is my understanding that the bureaus do not validate the debt but verify that it is in fact yours. You must contact the original creditor to validate the debt. Once you receive letters of validation from the creditor, you may then contact the bureaus to dispute inaccuracy.
