stop credit report hits
Is it ever okay to be late on your credit card payments? When does it negatively affect you?

I heard that if you’re a few days/week late, it’s okay even though you get hit by late fees, and it ONLY gets reported negatively on your credit report or adversely affects it if you’re more than 30 days late.

How true is that?

I got sick with the flu and actually forgot two of my credit card payments, which were already past due.

I payed them today even thoguh they were due 4-5 days ago.

If you do that every once in a while, is that okay, or will it still be a negative factor?

Also, why do some credit cards allow you balance transfers at first and increase your credit lines regularly, and then after a while they stop increasing your credit line and take away the balance transfer option?

Your fine, all you will be hit with is late fees.

Yes, it’s true you cannot be actually reported as late to the credit bureaus unless your 30-days or more late. This is true for all payments weather they are credit cards or installment loans like cars, boats, homes etc.
