Are there anywhere you can get your credit report totally for free?

Good afternoon all web surfers!

I have lived in the US for almost 1 and a half years.
I have had problems to get a job and not earned very much.
My spouse and I stand on the lease for our apartment and it has been paid every month(7 months now).
I have also paid several other bills.
I have got a credit card with a credit limit of $300.
Do I have enough credit history now?
Is my credit still to low to rent an apartment for an example?
Are there anywhere you can check your credit score for fee without signing up for something or paying a fee?
Is it always a bad thing if several companies check your credit?

Please help a legal emigrant!

Do NOT, repeat do NOT, go to www.freecreditreport.com.

It is a come-on, and its only purpose is to sell you overpriced credit monitoring services.

The only official free site run collaboratively by the 3 agencies is www.annualcreditreport.com, the one where you can get reports from all 3 agencies for absolutely nothing, no commitment. The only thing you may have to pay for is to see your FICO score – and that no more than $7.95.

“AnnualCreditReport.com is the only service authorized by Equifax, Experian and TransUnion for this purpose. The three nationwide consumer credit reporting companies have always encouraged consumers to regularly review their credit reports.

Please note that, as a security precaution,

*
Consumers should never provide their personal information to any other company or person for requesting free annual credit reports under the FACT Act.
*
AnnualCreditReport.com will not approach consumers via email, telemarketing or direct mail solicitations.”
