Transunion Credit Report Dispute Status
2010
Equifax not showing accounts as closed?
I ran my credit the other day and for the same accounts, Equifax doesn’t seem to report if the account is open or closed like Transunion or Experian does. Equifax only enters the comment “Paid account / zero balance.”
Should I dispute with Equifax over the status of the accounts? Some of these are old accounts and were closed a long time ago; I believe they should appear as closed!
What is your opinion about this issue? Am I making too big of an issue out of it?
I just don’t want it to look like I’m overextended with a bunch of accounts showing open that are actually closed in reality.
And if it matters, yes, my credit is excellent with high 771 and low 741. No negative information on record.
You may want to remember the saying “If it ain’t broke..don’t fix it”.
There are a lot of cases where people get crazy about making sure that every single thing on their credit report is perfect. Yet in trying to fix that they actually do more damage. Because they may “fix” something that was actually helping them.
Unless they are causing you problems with getting credit(which with a high 700 score is doubtful) you probably should just let it be.
