Transunion Credit Report Reviews

The credit bureaus and my creditors are violating the FDCPA and FCRA. How do I get them to comply w/out suing?

I sent verification letters to my creditors certified and they ignored them. I then sent them a letter telling them to remove the item because they failed to verify it, along with a copy of my previous letter and proof of their receipt. I ordered them to cease and desist. They mostly ignored these too, although one sent a letter pretending to be a law firm demanding payment, or my case could be “reviewed” by an attorney.

I sent the Credit Bureaus a request for an investigation on the grounds of inaccuracy and ownership doubt with all the documents submitted as proof that unverified debts were on my report. Transunion changed nothing, Experian claimed they could not process my request without more proof of identification, and Equifax hasnt responded yet.

Are there any alternatives to turning this over to an attorney? Any other steps to get these unverified items off my credit?

If you sent the collection agency a letter disputing the debt and they never responded but continue to report you to the credit reporting agency then you should file a complaint with your states Attorney General Consumer Protection Division. It’s kind of like filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, but once the state receives your complaint they will contact the collection agency. Trust me, the collection agency will respond to the state because they won’t want to risk being sued by the state for violating the law. It depends where you live, but most states let you submit your complaint online without mailing or signing anything. And it’s free so you might as well give it a try.
