Transunion Credit Reports By Phone

Can credit bureau decline a PIPEDA request?
I sent a letter to transunion canada, citing my rights under pipeda, requesting that they remove all personal information from my file, including name, address, phone number etc. They responded by saying something along the lines of; because I gave this information to the companies that report to them (cell phone account, credit card etc) that they don’t have to remove the information from my credit file.
This doesn’t sound right to me and sounds like a blatant breach of the PIPEDA.
Can anyone elaborate on my rights or lack thereof?
I don’t know how it works in Canada , but in the US any thing you give willingly to anyone can be used. When You call The 800 Tele.# and give information not to have unsolicited tele calls the information you supply is given to the credit agents,There is no way to get it off once the credit report agencies get a hold of it. Bank accounts are the same way, When I moved last time and signed up for utilities I paid a deposit so they would’t check my credit report, When they check your credit report they give them your information and It goes on like that forever.
