True Free Credit Report Sites

Free credit report websites charge later?
I’ve heard that free credit card reports on the internet ask for a credit card number, give you your credit report for free the first time, then bill your credit card later (even if you only do it once a year, they automatically bill you), such as www.freecreditreport.com. Is this true? What sites can I go to that are secure that won’t do this?
Those sites sign you up for credit monitoring service. The reports are free for 30 days, then they hit you with a fee later.
https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp is 100% free, but you can only get it once a year.
There is a free credit repair kit on this site: https://www.expert-credit-advice.com/
